Stuart has over 40 years’ experience in surveying a wide range of buildings, along with advising on repairs, alterations, refurbishment and extensions. He specialises in party wall matters, acting for building owners, developers and neighbours under the Party Wall etc. Act 1996. He is also a member of the Pyramus & Thisbe Society having successfully completed Party Wall Benchmark levels 1 and 2.
Stuart carries out detailed surveys of commercial properties for prospective purchasers and tenants. Advice is also given on leasehold matters including Schedules of Condition, Schedules of Dilapidation and negotiating to resolve disputes.
His key achievements are project managing a £1.5 million data centre development, negotiating dilapidation settlement of a local 32,000 square foot warehouse before preparing a scheme of repair to restore the building to a lettable condition. Recently, he has project managed the restoration of stonework and slate roofing of a local landmark and Grade 2 Listed Building, Bunyan Meeting Church.
He also undertakes detailed building surveys of houses, particularly those older than 1945 and Listed Buildings. He advised a client with a pre-purchase survey residential building in North Bedfordshire and then project managed the repair and refurbishment of the main house and annex.
Outside Robinson & Hall, Stuart enjoys gardening, DIY and bird watching. He is also involved in various roles in a local church.
