Abel joined Robinson & Hall in October 2018 as a Senior Planner in the Planning & Development department.
He has previously worked for Central Bedfordshire Council (formerly South Bedfordshire District Council) and Stevenage Borough Council so is very aware of how the local planning authorities work and in particular, the process in which planning applications are determined. He has also worked in the private planning practice with Relic Homes and Caldecotte Group.
No project is ever too large or small for Abel and he is highly experienced in preparing planning, design and access statements, defending cases at appeal and handling planning enforcement work. He enjoys the challenges encountered in dealing with a diverse case load and is always keen to explore different approaches to a wide range of planning scenarios to unlock the value of land and properties.
He also has vast experience in site appraisals and advising farmers and landowners of opportunities for development, renewable energy and residential and commercial applications.
He has detailed knowledge of UK Planning Law and always endeavours to keep up-to-date with the latest case law and appeal decisions which he relies upon to support planning applications and appeals. Abel believes in negotiating acceptable outcomes with planning officers and if necessary, with members as well.
In his spare time, he enjoys working out in the gym, involvement with charity work and travelling.
