We have welcomed a number of new starters over the summer, including secretarial support and administrators Jane Cole, Anne Grace and Carmen Myburgh. We have also bolstered a number of departments with Katie Cross, Darren Bilcock, Amy Atkins and Abel Bunu.
Katie Cross started her role in September as an Apprentice Rural Surveyor.
Prior to this, she worked at NFU Mutual for two and a half years as an account handler and sales advisor.
Alongside her work, she will be studying part time at Harper Adams University for a degree in Rural Enterprise and Land Management.
In her spare time, Katie is an active member of Young Farmers and a keen horse rider.
Darren Bilcock joined in April as an Architectural Technician and has a wealth of experience in the residential, commercial and retail sectors.
His remit of work at Robinson & Hall includes surveying, preparing drawings for planning applications and designing detailed working drawings for building control approval and specification writing.
Outside of work, Darren enjoys keeping fit and detailed scratch build model making of model railways.
Amy Atkins joined us in October as Senior Planner. She previously worked for Rectory Homes, during which time she dealt with preparing and managing pre-application enquiries and planning applications for a variety of sites. Amy is currently working towards becoming a member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI).
She loves sport and enjoys playing golf at the weekend and watching Wycombe Wanderers FC play.
Abel Bunu started here in October too and, like Amy, is a Senior Planner. Prior to this, he has worked in similar roles at Central Bedfordshire Council, Stevenage Borough Council and a private planning practice.
Abel enjoys the challenges encountered in dealing with a diverse case load and is always keen to explore different approaches to a wide range of planning scenarios to unlock the value of properties.
In his spare time, he enjoys working out in the gym, involvement with charity work and travelling.
Jane Cole joined us in June as a Secretary for the Rural Property & Business department and has over 20 years’ worth of administrative experience. Prior to Robinson & Hall, she previously worked for a company which provided communications systems to the emergency sector. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and walking the dog.
Anne Grace started in July also as a Secretary for the Rural Property & Business department. She moved to the UK in April 2018 from South Africa where she worked for Toyota South Africa Motors for 8 years prior. She has 6 year old twins which keep her very busy! She enjoys walks in the countryside.
Congratulations go to Bruce Holley, Assistant Rural Surveyor, who recently passed his Assessment of Professional Competence and became a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS).
Robert Franklin, Head of Architecture & Building Surveying Services, Alice Lawman, Assistant Planner, and Rhys Allen, Junior Building Surveyor, bravely took on the Swanbourne Endeavour on Sunday 21st October to raise money for a number of worthy local charities. They did a fantastic job and the current total to date of money raised is £800! A big well done to the team.
FAREWELL AND WELCOME BACK
I have been working at Robinson & Hall for a year covering Laura Saunders whilst she’s been on maternity leave. The time seems to have flown by and she is due back at the start of January 2019. Thank you to everyone for making me so welcome and welcome back to Laura.Back to articles
