Local Plans set out a local planning authority’s policies on which land across the region should be developed and is a key document which a local authority uses to assess and determine planning applications.
It is often necessary for land and property owners to get involved in the plan-making process if they are to develop robust investment strategies for their land and protect their long-term land and property interests.
As part of Local Plan making, local authorities carry out a ‘Call for Sites’. We keep a close eye on these activities and ensure that our clients are informed, so they can submit potential land for various development types including residential, commercial and infrastructure projects.
Due to our extensive knowledge of development plans in our area we are able to provide timely advice on how and when to promote land to Local Plan Reviews and the implications of the changing policy framework. We will also prepare the necessary representations and monitor progress whilst striving to achieve an appropriate allocation for development to maximise the chances of success at planning application stage.
