The Countryside Productivity Small Grant Scheme has returned for round 2 and is available for all farm types, with a total of £15 million available. The application window runs from 9th July through to midday on 3rd September 2019.
What is it?
The Countryside Productivity Small Grant Scheme is available for farmers looking to improve animal welfare, resource efficiency or nutrient management. It provides grants from £3,000 to £12,000 to purchase specific items. The full list can be viewed in Annex 3 of the Countryside Productivity Small Grant Handbook available here but some examples are below. Each item is given a standard cost and a minimum specification, with up to 40% of the eligible costs in an application being funded. Second hand items are not eligible, neither are lease or hire purchases.
What is new?
Those who were successful in the initial funding round can apply again provided that the total value of both applications is not more than £12,000 and the minimum claim value is greater than £3,000. Additional items have been included on the eligible list prefixed “R2”. Claims must now be supported with photos of each item purchased.
