We sell, rent, manage, survey, plan and advise...what can we do for you?
Our Architecture & Building Surveying department prepared all the plans to convert a series of agricultural barns on a rural estate in Swanbourne, Buckinghamshire.
The barns required full planning permission as they were sited within the curtilage of a Listed Building. We successfully negotiated a scheme with Aylesbury Vale District Council and obtained the necessary planning and listed building consent. We also prepared all the working drawings to obtain building regulations consent and to enable contractors to carry out the conversion works to an agreed specification.
The completed project comprises three single storey offices each with their own dedicated kitchen and WC facilities. The offices include vaulted ceilings exposing some of the original timber frame structure and other traditional features. The development also benefits from being in an attractive rural location and includes ample car parking.
Before After
The clients were keen to demonstrate their green credentials so the barns are well insulated and include air source heat pumps. The high level of specification ensured the barns obtained an A-rated Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) which our clients are delighted with. Our commercial department have successfully let all the energy efficient barns and the new tenants have already moved in.
If you have any agricultural barns which are capable of conversion either to commercial or domestic use, then please contact Robert Franklin.
