We are on the lookout for an experienced RICS-Qualified Surveyor to join our dynamic Commercial Property Team. Our team deals with all aspects of commercial property, with a strong rural focus, including sales and lettings, property management, landlord and tenant matters, valuations, rating and development.

This role is ideal for a commercial surveyor or a rural surveyor with solid commercial property experience. There is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to lead the department, following the forthcoming retirement of the current head of the department.

Are you the right person for the job?

• MRICS qualified with a minimum of 6 years’ post-qualification experience in a commercial property environment
• Thorough knowledge of commercial property agency, management, and surveying
• A commitment to high standards while meeting deadlines
• Strong team player with the ability to work independently and show initiative
• Excellent academic, professional, and personal record
• Exceptional interpersonal skills with the confidence to communicate, negotiate, and lead effectively
• Valid driving licence and own car

What will your role look like?

• Conduct property inspections, arrange repairs and maintenance, liaise with tenants and contractors, maintain management records, and handle rent arrears
• Manage lettings and sales of various commercial properties, conduct viewings, and prepare short-term leases and licenses
• Handle rent reviews and provide general property advice
• Perform Red Book valuations for tax, accounts, etc. (excluding secured lending)
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients
• Generate work for the commercial and other departments through networking and business development activities
• Lead the commercial department team following the current head’s retirement
• Please note that this is an office based role
