A client purchased a former public house in Bedford with the vision to form a community hub with meeting rooms, café and multi use games area for the local community.
A feasibility study was carried out to assess the site’s viability and to inform the development process. The study concluded that it was economical to retain and refurbish the bulk of the structure and extend the property. A sketch scheme and visualisation was prepared and presented to the client and local community for comment. The feedback was very good and Robinson & Hall prepared the Planning Application package and succeeded in obtaining Planning Consent. Robinson & Hall prepared the working drawings and submitted the Building Regulation application.
A specification for the works including the client’s desired fixtures and fittings was prepared and sent to competitive tender. Contract documents were prepared and Robinson & Hall project managed the conversion and extension works through to completion.
The works were completed on time and on budget.
